Information: C.P.R. classes have been scheduled and will be offered to all residents in November and February. There will be a demonstration of the A.E.D. (Automatic External Difibulator). These Machines are designed so that anyone can use them.
Most people who suffer cardiac arrest are victims of Ventricular fibrillation and abnormal chaotic rhythm that prevents the heart from pumping blood. You will learn how to recognize the emergency, call 911, and follow up with C.P.R. to keep oxygenated blood flowing to the heart until the A.E.D. arrives with a trained person or paramedic.
This is where manual C.P.R. becomes important. It might be up to you to keep the victim alive through that short window of time. These few minutes can be the difference between life and death.
Our park has purchased an A.E.D. that is with our security officers. To become familiar with this easy to operate machine we urge all residents to take this course.
