Bruce Cooper passed away September 22, 2011. For those of you who didn't know him personally, he was the fellow on the "gut bucket" base, and also the "priest" in the last Big Star show. A wonderful loving gentle man, with a wonderful wife and family. Loved flying radio control airplanes and raising his racing pigeons.

Myrna Dempsey passed away January 7.   She died peacefully at home.   Funeral will be Saturday morning January 14.  I'm sure Chuck would appreciate any cards.   Myrna was such a caring, thoughtful person.  His address is:  14809  SE  Bartell  Rd., Boring, OR   97009

Raymond Eugene Corey Passed away on April 17, 2011 at the age of 82 with his daughter Linda by his side. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Joan Elarth Corey and leaves behind his sister Dolores Middlekauff, two daughters, Sharon Longstreth and Linda Abe, two grandchildren and great granddaughter. Ray was born in Tacoma WA on July 22, 1928, graduated from Lincoln High School and attended the University of Washington. For many years, Ray was an active member of First Christian Church in Tacoma, acting as a Deacon, Elder and board member. Ray loved outdoor activities, spending many happy weekends camping and hiking; he achieved his goals of summiting Mt. Rainier and other Cascade peaks. After retirement, Ray and Joan travelled, met new people, reconnected with old friends and enjoyed their time together. At Ray's request, no service will be held.

Kenneth Glenn Borst

July 10, 1931 – April 21, 2011

Kenneth Glenn Borst, 79, a retired Los Angeles City Fireman, died April 21, 2011 after a long battle with Lung Cancer and Congestive Heart Failure. He was born July 10, 1931 in Los Angeles to Sam and Theresa Borst.  Kenneth was raised in Los Angeles and Grand Rapids, Michigan. He joined the Navy in 1948. He served on Shore Duty and served on the Aircraft Carrier Tarawa EV40. Upon discharge he worked for Southern California Edison as a Lineman.  In February 1960, Kenneth joined the Los Angeles City Fire Department. He worked in the harbor and became one of the first Scuba Firefighters and also the President of the LAFD Builders Club. Working all over the city, in 1980 he became a Fire Inspector and retired in 1988. He then worked for 6 years as a Fire Safety Officer for the movie and television industry. His hobbies included tennis, golf, landscaping and yard work, camping and traveling all 50 states with his wife of 56 years, Lois.  Before ill health he was active in Bear Valley Springs Sportsmen’s Club after moving there in 1999. He loved volunteering at Stonecroft Ministries in the Ozarks and Hume Lake Christian Camp in Sequoia, California.  He was an active church member.

Mr. Borst is survived by his wife Lois of Bear Valley Springs, their 3 children, Melba Evans, Brian (Susan) Borst, and Vicki (Mike) Lommori and his four grandchildren Alexx & Kaylee Lommori and Amanda & Andrew Borst. He is also survived by his sister Jean Scott (Don) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, his sister-in-law Carol Borst, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. He leaves many dear friends including the very special family of Dan Bridgen (Jeri), Lisa, and Ryan (Jessica) and girls. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Borst of Beaumont and son-in-law Dennis Evans of Denver, Colorado.

RICHARD N. GARDNER
July 8, 1925 ~ December 11, 2011

Richard N. Gardner, 86, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sun., Dec. 11, 2011, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 8, 1925 in Seattle, WA to George and Dorothy Gardner. He moved to Brush Prairie, WA in 1929 and remained in the Brush Prairie/Battle Ground area for his entire life.
Dick joined the Navy after graduating from Battle Ground High School where he proudly served his country during WW II.
He married Betty Anderson and they began a full life, raising four children, homesteading in Idaho, farming and enjoying many activities of hunting, fishing and traveling.
Dick and Betty owned and operated Dick's Drive In Dairy for many years beginning in 1959. At the time, it was only one of three Grade A dairies in the state of Washington to produce, process and sell milk. He had a love of animals and farming.
Dick was a loving family man, devoted to his wife
of 64 years and to his children and grandchildren.
He was blessed to have many lifelong friends.
A longtime member of Brush Prairie Baptist Church, he was also a volunteer fireman with the City of Battle Ground for many years.
Dick is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Rex (Pam) Gardner; daughters, Diane (Steve) Evans, Marlis (Tom) Dewey and Debbie (Hal) Heffner.

A memorial service will be held on Fri., Dec. 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brush Prairie Baptist Church.

Betty Hill who used to live at #538, at RCB passed away In July. . Betty has had cancer for a couple of years, and it finally got the best of her. She had moved up to the Seattle area to live with her daughter during these difficult times.

SALEM- Linda Kay Ivie was born on October 30, 1937, in Peoria, Illinois to Leonard & Harriett Buckingham. She graduated valedictorian of her class from Mt. Zion High School in 1955. In 1956, she met the love of her life, Walter I. Ivie. They were married November 10, 1956, in Decatur, Illinois where they resided before moving to Salem in 1960. Walt and Linda were married for more than 54 blessed years. Linda loved her family. As a faithful and loving homemaker she raised five children who share her love for the Lord, His creation and compassion for others. For the last twenty plus years, Linda attended many of the grandchildren's sporting and school events. She enjoyed playing card games, golfing, gardening, flowers and embroidery. She had a love of family gatherings which included singing of hymns. Linda was a long time member of Salem First Church of the Nazarene.

Linda was surrounded by her family as she slipped into the arms of Jesus at 8:45 p.m. on March 20, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Buckingham; and brother, Ken Buckingham.

She leaves behind her husband, Walter; her mother, Harriet Buckingham; her five children, Sharon Cotner (Bob), Alan Ivie (Lore), Julie Sundvall (Glenn), Carol Schmidt (Jim), Connie Johnson (Gary); and eleven grandchildren, Sarah Freitag (Jeff), Jamie Beaty (Dallas), Luke Sundvall, Hillary Chupp (Joe), Corby, Lauren, and Hannah Johnson, Joe, Nathan, Olivia and Sam Schmidt.

There will be a private graveside service for the immediate family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Salem First Church of the Nazarene at 1550 Market Street, Friday, March 25th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in memory of Linda Ivie to the Union Gospel Mission or the Salem First Church of the Nazarene building fund. Bud Lang, Space #400, passed away June 7, 2011. Bud had gone in for a double knee replacement a couple of weeks ago, and was in rehab. Rowe Redick, Space #589, passed away on Wednesday, May18 of this week, here at RCB. As most  you know, Rowe has been dealing with cancer for sometime now. I don't know any details concerning Rowe's passing or information on a service. His wife, Julia is here in the Park, and their address is the Parks address lot #589.

Bill Stuewe who lived at Lot #443 passed away in September. Bill and his wife Billie have been lot owners at RCB for a long time.
